Gender Diversity & Inclusion in Education and Construction

19 Oct 2022

Building a workforce for the future

How does the construction industry recruit, develop and retain a diverse workforce?

In June 2022, Construction News reported that 266,000 extra construction workers were required by 2026 to meet the growing demand in the UK construction sector. This is not a new headline; the skills shortage in construction is widespread and well reported. It will be hard to meet the demand for skilled jobs if large portions of the population are excluded from the talent pool. Diversifying the workforce will not only help to lessen the skill shortage, but it makes good business sense. Studies suggest that diverse companies are more profitable and make better decisions.

This session aims to increase awareness of the benefits of diversity as well as equip participants with the tools required to recruit, develop and retain a diverse workforce for the future.
