This practical and interactive session will introduce attendees to wudu, the ritual washing performed by Muslims before prayer, and explore what appropriate provision means within schools, colleges and universities.

Using a live demonstration of the WuduMate Mobile, we will highlight common challenges that can arise when suitable facilities are unavailable. These include users lifting their feet into conventional hand basins, wet and potentially slippery floors, excessive splashing, limited accessibility and a lack of dignity.

The session will be relevant to anyone involved in planning, designing, constructing, supplying, managing or using education facilities. Attendees will see how a mobile, no-plumbing unit can provide a flexible solution where permanent provision is not immediately practical. We will also briefly explain the other types of purpose-designed ablution facilities available for different spaces, user numbers and project requirements.

The emphasis will be on education, inclusion and better decision-making rather than selling, with time for questions and shared discussion.
