Pentagon Play have conducted a new survey amongst primary school teachers in the UK, aiming to discover teachers’ satisfaction levels with their teaching environment.

Overall, they found that on a scale of 1-5, 47.35% of teachers rated their classroom an environment a 3 or below, despite it being the environment where they spend the majority of their working week.

44.4% of teachers rated it a 4 out of 5, where a small percentage of 8.3% rated their classroom environments a full 5 out of 5.

The findings were based on a survey of over 30 teachers, across 36 schools across the UK.

This survey reveals concerning information about the classroom environments where children spend 10% of their early life between the ages of 4-11, according to the Children’s University.

In another question, the study found that 86.3% of teachers agreed that they can afford their new classroom furniture through fundraising, grants, the Church and other donations.

2.8% teachers also admitted to using their own money to provide new classroom furniture.
