Fowler's Yard is situated on the bank of the River Wear in the historic and retail heart of Durham City centre. The yard consists of creative workspaces, offering the public the opportunity to meet with artists and craftspeople to observe different creative processes. The building that required an Easiaccess step unit is situated within a conservation area. The site is not listed, but is within the Durham City conservation area and in the setting of the World Heritage Site. The existing staircase had to be removed and replaced with one our modular step unit. Although, all elements needed to be black.
