Synopsis

The Social Mobility Action Plan published by Department for Education in December 2017 committed to improving the availability and take up of high quality early years provision for disadvantaged children and in challenging areas. Schools nurseries can provide high quality early education to young children, however currently only 46% of schools offer funded nursery provision for 3 and 4 year olds and only 31% of pupils taking up funded provision attend school nurseries. session will explore the benefits high quality early years provision can bring to schools and will provide information about the School Nurseries Capital Fund announced in September 2018.
