Synopsis

Whilst the digital revolution we are living in affords us many technological advances, turning the clock back is something we still haven’t mastered. When it comes to an educational building, accurate photographic and digital records capture means at any point we actually can turn back time and view every step and detail of the build helping each phase of the its’ life cycle:
• During the build obtain detailed digital records to raise, maintain and share best practice and quality standards, improve construction efficiencies and problem solve/snag.
• At handover provide full visibility of construction (and what lies beneath every wall, floor and ceiling) in addition to the “as remembered” drawings.
• Efficient management of the facility during occupancy through quality digital capture allows accurate repair with minimal destructive discovery…furthermore inevitable alterations, amendments and additions are made easier with quality digital imagery of the building.
A discussion of the above with case studies will highlight how digital technology can assist all stakeholders Documenting their projects, helping them with adhere to schedules and budgets at construction whilst helping to reduce potential disruptions and effects on occupancy for many years to come with a permanent memorialisation of the building for the FM team. We will also be highlighting the importance of security and how to host your information and imagery online securely .
