Synopsis

Within Manchester City Council, we have a mandate to ensure our local community benefits from the work that we do – including during the building process. The outcomes that we demand include apprenticeships, engaging with those not currently in work, training opportunities and local labour. When there is such as focus on building to tight programmes and budgets, it is a challenge to also ensure that social value is requested, monitored, and delivered.

This presentation will highlight how we deliver the outcomes the council needs within education projects and beyond. It will give some great examples of how, by careful consideration of the procurement route and through collaborative working, we achieve our targets.
