Synopsis

The Centre Building project is the third collaboration between engineering and design consultancy chapmanbdsp and the London School of Economics.
Set in central London, the 13-storey building is naturally ventilated and has a BREEAM “Outstanding” rating. It uses biofuel CHP and PVs as part of its renewable energy strategy and reduces embodied carbon by 30 per cent.
During this talk, Ian Duncombe will outline how chapmanbdsp’s integrated design approach helped the LSE reach its sustainability goals and how this approach will evolve to deal with the changing energy landscape and the move towards zero carbon.
