Ian Duncombe

Board Director



Ian leads a team delivering masterplans and building projects and is an advocate of chapmanbdsp’s integrated approach to building services and environmental design.
After studying at the University of Bath, Ian joined Roger Preston and Partners and worked on the Century Tower in Tokyo, Ludwig Erhard Haus in Berlin and the Stirling Prize winning American Air Museum.
He co-founded BDSP Partnership in 1995, and helped deliver award-winning projects – 30 St Mary Axe (the ‘Gherkin’), Nottingham Science Park and the World Trade Center in Abu Dhabi – many of which were formed around Ian’s environmental engineering designs. Today, Ian collaborates with leading architects and latest work, the Britam Tower, Kenya, was awarded best MEP project at the 2019 CTBUH awards.
