Matthew is an Associate Director at AECOM in the St Albans building services team. He specialises in optimising the designs for technically complex buildings providing low energy and carbon solutions, with a particular emphasis in developing designs that can deliver low energy performance both on paper and in operation.
Matthew led the building services design for the multi-award winning GSK Carbon-Neutral Sustainable Chemistry Laboratory at the University of Nottingham, the first carbon neutral laboratory, and is currently reviewing how the building has performed over the last 2 years to better understand how to deliver energy efficient laboratories of the future.
