Sarah is the director in charge of schools architecture at Curl la Tourelle Head. Sarah has made educational architecture her special interest since 1985.  She has over 30 years’ experience in design of schools, colleges and community facilities. She Is an RIBA registered Client Design Adviser and trained facilitator. She has presented at many sector specific conferences, and her projects have been included as exemplars in a number of RIBA and DfE publications including, most recently, “Future Schools”, RIBA Publishing.

Sarah has been Lead Client Adviser for Tower Hamlets, Cambridgeshire, Bournemouth & Poole and Barking & Dagenham BSF programmes. She is currently Client and Technical Adviser to London Borough of Haringey, where she has advised on a range of projects from Primary Schools to Leisure and Conservation projects.  In these roles she has organised and facilitated Evaluation Workshops and Local Design Reviews. She has led on option appraisals resulting in Business Case control options and has made significant contributions to Output Specifications and Employer’s Requirements. She has facilitated engagement and dialogue, including project evaluation and negotiations up to Financial Close. She has been particularly effective in organising end user consultation including visits and she has developed a process to achieve high environmental building performance within standard budgets.

Sarah also has current experience of practical delivery of primary, secondary and special schools within current ESFA financial and area guidelines, including her most recent project for the new build Glenwood Special School, Essex, currently shortlisted for and wining a number of industry awards.
