Amy Greenough

Project Lead for Schools Water Strategy, Department for Education

Amy has been a dedicated member of the department for 8 years. She currently leads the Schools Water Strategy Team, a role she has held since 2020. Amy’s passion lies in creating positive impacts through nature-based projects and protecting schools from flooding. Her work as project lead has directly benefited over 200 schools, providing green spaces, reducing the risk of flooding, and enhancing the learning environment for more than 200,000 pupils. By promoting a healthier lifestyle and fostering a deeper understanding of the environment, Amy contributes to a brighter future for both pupils and the planet.

Amy’s efforts align with the Department for Education’s (DfE) Risk Protection Arrangement (having worked on the team for several years and delivered travel cover into the offer) and the departments Climate Change & Sustainability Strategy. Through these initiatives, she strives to increase opportunities for pupils to connect with nature and actively engage in local environmental improvements.
