Anna Steels has over 20 years’ experience in primary education and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Latchmere Academy Trust (LAT) in 2021. LAT is a two-school primary trust serving approximately 1,000 pupils across Kingston and Richmond, including a specialist resource provision for children with social communication needs, including Autism.

Inclusion sits at the heart of Anna’s leadership. She is a strong advocate for equitable access to high-quality education, ensuring that all trust decisions are firmly child-centred and guided by pupil wellbeing, progress and achievement.

Anna has led the trust through the national challenges of falling pupil rolls with innovative, locally responsive and sustainable strategies. Her leadership is underpinned by a commitment to developing effective partnerships with other trusts and local stakeholders to strengthen the local offer, build capacity and ensure high-quality provision for pupils with SEND.
