Claire Hunt is Regional Director at OOBE, leading landscape strategy across education and civic projects in the Midlands and beyond. She champions landscape-led design in schools, positioning the external environment as essential infrastructure for wellbeing, inclusion and long-term social value. Her work explores how outdoor spaces — from arrival sequences and courtyards to play and learning landscapes — shape everyday experience and support readiness to learn.Claire collaborates closely with architects, consultants and education clients to embed landscape thinking early in the design process. She has a particular interest in trauma-informed design principles and how they extend beyond interiors into the wider campus environment. Through research, practice and sector engagement, she advocates for school grounds that foster belonging, emotional regulation and dignity.Claire is passionate about creating landscapes that help children feel grounded, safe and ready to learn.
