David served in the British Army for 6 years. David was wounded whilst deployed to Afghanistan, with the Brigade Reconnaissance Force, during Op Herrick 10, in 2009, and after a lengthy rehabilitation programme was subsequently medically discharge in 2012. David has gone on to pursue a career in Health, Safety, and Environment. Using his resettlement to obtain over 16 qualifications and a Diploma in Health and Safety, Buildforce sourced a number of work placements for David during 2020 which eventually lead to him being able to go on and gain full time employment within the construction industry. David, through Buildforce, continues to mentor and assist fellow veterans and service leavers in to the construction industry and has been nominated for the “Inspiration of the Year” category in the Ex-forces in business awards 2021 and 2023 for his work for championing veterans in to the construction industry.
