Ellis Taylor, Apprentice Construction Manager at ISG, was a Design Surveying and Planning (DSP) student from Cheshire College. He undertook his 45 day placement at Crewe Fire Station, a contract to develop a new, state-of-the-art training facility for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS). The project created 14 training zones which will immerse firefighters in real-life operational situations making them better equipped and skilled to keep the communities of Cheshire and surrounding areas safe. Providing innovative technology and real-life scenario sets, ranging from serious motorway collisions to dealing with building fires and chemical incidents, keeping firefighters highly skilled and equipped to deal with a myriad of life saving situations.
Over the duration of the placement his confidence has grown and he was also successful in his ISG Early Careers Apprenticeship application process, at the end of his T Levels. Ellis will share his exciting placement activities and learnings with the audience.
