Emma is a Principal Consultant at Anderson Acoustics Limited with 20 years experience working in the field of acoustics and noise control. Emma has undertaken and managed various projects involving building acoustics work. Emma is a specialist in architectural acoustics, design of rooms for speech intelligibility and privacy, acoustics for public address/voice alarm (PA/VA) systems, and open space planning. Following her award-winning PhD research and publications on acoustics of open plan classrooms, and project experience in the education sector, she co-authored the DfE's acoustic performance standards for schools (BB93 2015), and the accompanying IoA/ANC design guide. She also has a practical understanding of school operations through trustee and school governor roles.
