Iain Shaw
Max Fordham Director and Manchester officer leader, Iain Shaw, has extensive experience in the restoration and refurbishment of existing buildings. As a result, he has particular ability in the coordinating and detailing of complex designs to deliver client and architectural aspirations.
Iain has led UK and international projects across a wide range of sectors including galleries, schools, offices, luxury homes, manufacturing facilities and apartment buildings. His recent projects include the award-winning net zero carbon Woodlands Day Nursery for Staffordshire University.
His current ongoing work includes the Salix funded decarbonisation of the Grade II Power Hall and 1830 Warehouse at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, using ground source heat pumps to deliver heating, cooling and heat recovery from the steam systems that power the Historic Working Machines.
He is also leading the restoration and decarbonisation project at the Grade I listed Rochdale Town Hall which required incredible attention to detail and delicate engineering to deliver a more efficient building fit for the future.
