Jane Balderstone is the Director responsible for delivery of the Build and Rebuild programmes within the Education Estates Service offer. This currently includes the School Rebuilding Programme, Free Schools and FE Capital. Jane is responsible for overseeing the Deputy Director led Regional Teams that deliver construction projects. She also oversees the Deputy Director for Construction Programme Management, whose team ensures high quality programme management of our construction programmes including the forecasting of capital spend, and the Deputy Director for Construction Technical Services, who manages our relationships and contracts with building contractors and technical advisers.  

Prior to this role, Jane has worked in a variety of roles within the DfE since 2007. She started her career at HM Treasury and is a graduate of the Major Projects Leadership Academy. Jane is based in Manchester and is married with one son. She spends as much time as possible outside work in the outdoors.
