Since establishing Hawkins\Brown’s Manchester studio in 2014, Katie has led a wide range of complex projects, spanning all sectors and at a variety of scales. She has a wealth of design experience accumulated over more than twenty years with the company, commanding considerable knowledge of technical, legislative and societal issues: “serious about society, human about architecture”.

Her portfolio spans delivering award winning urban regeneration and estate redevelopments, from cultural to residential, with a timely emphasis on creative re-use when refreshing existing buildings. Katie is comfortable navigating complex planning scenarios, skilled at working with stakeholders in developing and then championing shared project visions, raising expectations and then delivering on them, with exemplary design solutions.

In the higher education sector, she helps keep the practice at the forefront of latest thinking, successfully fusing industry and education, responding to evolving learning programmes, the rapid change in technological advancements and continued demand for high quality learning spaces.
