Luke Kennedy

Programme Director - School Rebuilding Programme, Department for Education

Luke Kennedy is the Deputy Director responsible for the School Rebuilding Programme.  He has been a Civil Servant for 32 years, mainly working in capital delivery.  He has worked across a number of DfE construction programmes, stretching back to PFI projects and Building Schools for the Future along with other programmes, such as Free Schools and the Priority School Building Programme.  He has also worked in a number of other national policy and delivery roles, including around youth justice, school improvement and special educational needs and disabilities.  Alongside his main role leading SRP, he is also responsible for delivery policy and improvement for centrally delivered construction programmes within DfE.  He recently introduced a streamlined programme-agnostic delivery process for projects, which has enabled more efficient resource deployment, reduced duplication and removed unnecessary processes.
