Since February 2019, l have been a DfE Design Adviser - inclusive design, SEND and AP lead - contributing to a range of design guidance documents, policy development, building programmes and individual projects. I provide strategic SEND design support to DfE colleagues, project delivery teams, architects and responsible bodies, schools and colleges.
Prior to joining the DfE I was a SEND specialist in private sector architect and project management companies, working with the DfE, schools, colleges and local authority clients. I have two teenagers in the education system.
Collaboration and clear communicative are key to my approach to positively supporting more inclusive education settings. I help shape the built environment - the silent teaching assistant. My drive is to positively influence education architecture to facilitate learning through being universally inclusive to improve lives.
