Rachel Beckett

Rachel joined Man Met in January 2020. She is leading the Library Transformation Programme which includes a reimagining of what a university library is and does in support of University goals and developing plans for an incredible new library building. Prior to this she was Associate Director of the John Rylands Library, Associate Director of the John Rylands Research Institute and Head of Engagement for the Manchester University Library at the University of Manchester. Rachel is passionate about using collections, services and spaces imaginatively to create and share knowledge and understanding that contributes to educational, social and cultural development in a collaborative and empowered environment. Externally, Rachel in a member of the SCONUL Executive Board and co-chair of the SCONUL Horizons Strategy Group.
