Richard Dunne is Founder and Director of The Harmony Project (www.theharmonyproject.org.uk), an education charity helping schools worldwide place sustainability and nature at the heart of learning.As a headteacher for 18 years at an Outstanding school, Richard pioneered an approach using nature's principles—cycles, diversity, interdependence, and adaptation—to transform how schools use their buildings and grounds as learning environments. This project-based methodology connects curriculum learning with real-world application in school estates and sustainability practices.Richard now shares the Harmony approach nationally and internationally through presentations, workshops, and school support programmes. He works directly with schools to help them become smarter and more sustainable in their operational practices. His teachers' guide, available in nine languages, enables educators to integrate these natural principles into curriculum and estate management, demonstrating how physical learning environments can enhance educational outcomes while advancing sustainability.
