Richard has over 25 years experience in sustainability working across the energy and construction industry. Most recently, Richard joined Kier Design & Business Services (DaBS) to establish a carbon consultancy. Over the past 18 months Richard and the team have been focusing of establishing a baseline for embodied carbon across the projects delivered by Kier Construction. A contributor to the Route to 600 project, Richard the DaBS Team has successfully identified a clear route map to deliver decarbonised construction projects. Prior to Kier, Richard was the Head of Sustainability at Willmott Dixon, London & South Region. During his 15 years at the contractor, Richard led the local implementation of the Now or Never strategy, which focused on buildings, social value and environmental sustainability. In his earl career Richard worked within the energy industry delivering decarbonisation projects across the social housing sector.
