Sarah Parker
Sarah has worked within the Special Education field for the past 20 years. Upon joining a large Special School as an NQT Sarah found a passion for breaking down barriers to ensure this group of young people were exposed to as many opportunities as possible. This included setting up The Duke Edinburgh's Award Scheme at the school which culminated in a joint Gold Expedition to Poland. Committed to inclusion and her own personal growth, Sarah undertook an MA in Educating Children and Young People with Autism which has ensured her approaches are aligned with research and a solid evidence base. Working with Wellspring Academy Trust Sarah was appointed as Principal Designate for the Scunthorpe Special P16 Free School in June 2021, this ensured Sarah's involvement with the design and build of what is now Trent View College. This journey has allowed Sarah to apply her previous experience whilst reflecting and adapting knowledge and expectations around the purpose and importance of Specialist P16 Provision. Trent View College opened in September 2023 with 28 young people. From September 2025 it will be providing education and a social care base for over 80 young people with special educational needs.
