Sasha Krstanovic
Sasha has almost 30 years’ experience in design and building engineering and is a Fellow of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers. Her focus is on low energy and zero carbon building design. Recent high-profile projects include leading the technical design and on-site delivery for the refurbishment of MEP systems for the Palais de Nations - UN Office in Geneva, and Kula Belgrade – a 42-storey hotel and residential tower in Serbia, and currently the tallest tower under construction in SE Europe.
Sasha is a regular speaker at conferences relating to low energy and low carbon building designs where she shares her expertise in this field. She has a number of external advisory roles on various forums which include:
- a trustee and a board member of the Higher Education Design Quality Forum (HEDQF)
- a member of the HS2 Design Panel
- a member of the Ebbsfleet Design Forum
- director of the Equilibrium Network Horizon 2020 project DivAirCity
- a member of the CIBSE/ HPA Water Source Heat Pumps Code of Practice steering committee and a contributor to the CIBSE Guide L – Sustainability
- a Senior Lecturer in Building Services at the University of the West of England.
Sasha won the CIBSE Engineer of the Year award in 2021, and became a CIBSE Board Member in 2025.
