Collaborative Pathways to Net Zero: Dulwich College’s Lower School Library Project
Presentation and panel discussion on Dulwich College’s new Lower School Library project, highlighting the collaborative efforts to achieve Net Zero Carbon in its design and construction. Key stakeholders - Dulwich College, Max Fordham engineers, and alma-nac architects - will share insights. The discussion includes the school’s sustainability vision, systematic approaches to carbon reduction, energy modelling, and integrating renewable technologies. It also explores architectural strategies, material choices, and participatory design’s role in sustainability. By showcasing these strategies, the panel provides a practical roadmap to Net Zero Carbon, offering lessons on cross-disciplinary collaboration and fostering dialogue on sustainable educational estates through Q&A.

Mulberry Academy London Docks – Creating an Exceptional Learning Environment
The recently completed Mulberry Academy London Docks, designed for 1,150 students, is a civic beacon and community hub in Tower Hamlets, setting a new standard for educational design in London. Architype will present the school’s aspirations and design strategy, which focused on creating an exceptional learning environment with excellent energy performance, while reducing air and noise pollution. Kier will highlight the unique technical challenges faced during the design and construction of the school. This will include exclusive insight into the innovative techniques used to deliver the UK’s first-ever double-basement Passivhaus school in a tight inner-city environment in central London.
