Active Travel England: Designing for active school journeys
An introduction to Active Travel England’s (ATE)  design guidance on how we can embed walking, wheeling and cycling into new and changing school developments and within major development masterplanning.

Effective & Sustainable Travel Planning for Schools
This presentation will focus on sustainable travel planning and how this can be effectively implemented in schools. It will detail how the Travel Plan process is currently adopted across schools, and the advantages for adopting this process and challenges that can be faced. The presentation will look at Travel Planning within the overall planning process, and how the delivery of new schools or the expansion of existing schools can utilise Travel Planning to provide an opportunity to enhance sustainability and create a cohesive environment for active travel and healthy living. It will provide case studies of where sustainable Travel Planning has been applied and will introduce an application called HomeRun which can aid Travel Planning in schools and provide schools, Councils and parents with purposeful travel data to monitor and effectively plan in the long-term for sustainable travel.
