A Passivhaus home for students – performance data and lived experience
Purdown View, the largest Passivhaus development in the UK, houses 900 students on the University of the West of England’s Frenchay Campus. The development paves the way forward for the university’s Net Zero Carbon 2030 strategy. Following on from a talk at Education Estates 2023, this presentation will paint a picture of the lived experience at Purdown View. Attendees will learn about the scheme’s post-occupancy successes and challenges from the perspectives of the client, design team, and the students who live there. The hosts will share quantitative and qualitative data on energy performance and student sentiment.
