The Education Estates® People's Awards will take place at the end of Day 2, Wednesday 16 October 2024, on the Main Stage at Manchester Central.

The awards are FREE for all to enter and attend, including complimentary drinks and entertainment from Daliso-Chaponda.

The Education Estates® People’s Awards are now open for entries. Entries must be made online by 23:59 on Friday 28 June 2024. 

The qualifying period for all the Education Estates® People’s Awards categories is 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023.

Emerging Talent

The Emerging Talent Award recognises exceptional talent and demonstrates excellent potential for the future. This award is open for entries or nominations for someone that has recently left Education or the Armed Forces (for example) and is within the first 0-24 months of their career.

Let’s Go Zero Hero Award

Let’s Go Zero Hero Award

Criteria

They are:

  • A passionate leader regardless of their level of authority. Leading bold, innovative, effective and replicable actions or projects.
  • Creating real and measurable impact in their setting’s climate action and progress towards net zero. They have gone beyond the easy and obvious actions.
  • Proactively sharing their experiences to support other settings to take action.
  • Advocating for the Lets’ Go Zero vision – that all schools, colleges and nurseries are zero carbon by 2030.
  • Inspiring a whole setting approach that has impact beyond their own setting – working with their MAT, community, or other networks/stakeholders.
  • A passionate and positive role model who enables others to take action through supporting their students, colleagues, and wider community.

Individuals can be teaching or non-teaching staff, as well as governors/MAT Trustees. Priority will be given to individuals in settings educating students aged 18 and below, and are signed up to the Let’s Go Zero campaign.

Entry Criteria

Each entry must answer/cover 2 main questions:

  • Why are you nominating this person (30% score – 100-300 words)?
    • Please focus on the specific qualities that make the nominee deserving of recognition. This could include their exceptional skills, dedication, leadership qualities, or positive impact on others.
  • What have they done in the last 12 months to make them stand out (70% score - 300-500 words)?
    • Please tell us about the recent achievements or contributions that set the nominee apart. This could encompass projects they have led, milestones they have achieved, awards they have won, or any other noteworthy accomplishments within the past year.

To enhance your entry further, consider addressing the suggested points/objectives:

  • How they have supported colleagues or the business/brand/product, with real-life examples of challenges and their problem-solving approach.
  • Personal attributes they have exhibited that have contributed to their success.
  • Why you believe they are most deserving of the award compared to other potential nominees.
  • Include at least one testimonial from a client or team member to underscore the nominee's impact and effectiveness.

Please note that at judging all entries will be anonymised in order to be as fair as possible to the nominees.
