Rory Kennedy, Director of Capital, Department for Education

“The Department for Education is pleased to continue its long-standing partnership with Education Estates® as it celebrates its tenth year. The current need to rebuild or retrofit existing educational buildings with designs that focus on low carbon construction, design and energy efficiency, places Education Estates® as a key event for us to engage and share our plans with the sector and gather its feedback.

This year, we will be contributing to several of its key themes, including the centralised school capital delivery story; design and innovation’s role in achieving zero carbon schools; and the FE Capital funding journey. Our exhibition stand will include a showcase from one of our current research projects, GenZero, key strands of which include net zero carbon in operation; embodied carbon in construction; Platform and standardisation.”
